Seeking to unite territory of the developing EU and to create a uniform transport space, EU railway transport networks have been intensively developed. This way the conditions to organize the process of freight and passenger carriage in a more effective way was established, also new solutions aimed at improving integrity of EU regions and railway transport services are looked for. One of the most perspective examples of railway network development in the EU region is Rail Baltica corridor. When analysing internationalisation processes, it is expedient to assess usefulness of the railway corridor in different aspects. One of the first issue – to determine on cost-benefit basis for which countries the Rail Baltica project of the railway line crossing them would have greater significance, and for which – smaller. Economic indicators of the countries, also multi-criteria optimisation methods have been applied in the article. It was established that the sum-of-ratings method is not sufficient for the study analysed, as several equivalent solutions may be obtained. Therefore, the final result was received by rating the significance of indicator values. This method maybe used in assessing significance of the railway line crossing several countries for one or another country with respect to other countries, also by determining for which country the line is of special significance, and for which it is of less significance.
