Abstract
Axles of truck semi-trailers experience high static and dynamic loads. Although axle manufacturers evaluated this, it often happens that axles break. The article deals with a well-known manufacturer of integral axles. Twelve broken analogically similar, the same type and model axles were chosen for the crackoverview. All axle failures occurred before the end of the warranty period. The common types and sites of cracks are overviewed. In first approach scheme of calculating the axle formed simplify neglecting torsion and bending around vertically axis. The normal and shear stresses in critical points are calculated analytically resilient stage of axle.
