Abstract
The article looks into the problems of oscillation damping of coach bogies by suspension elements and ensuring rolling stock running smoothness and stability. Rolling stock running smoothness is evaluated according to the parameters of coach body oscillation processes. By simulating coach running on track irregularities, forced oscillations of elements of body and bogies are excited. This article analyses one of the main characteristics of wagon dynamics, namely, movement smoothness, it also describes the effectiveness of coach suspension, analyses the characteristics of the processes of element oscillation and vibration. Coach running on the railway track with rail irregularities is simulated by using a programme package “Universal Mechanism”. The dependence of coach body oscillation amplitude on the nature of track irregularities and vertical and transverse displacement of the suspension are analysed in the article. Coach stability for derailment, with changing suspension stiffness and running speed were examined in this article according to the Nadal’s criterion.
