Application of preventive measures for heavy vehicle transport in supply chain: Lithuania as case study
Abstract
Accident rate of heavy vehicles in local and international transport is one of the problems which influences supply chain management. This is a major problem not only in Lithuania, but also around the world. Research shows that preventive measures are intended for preservation of working ca pacity, health and life of drivers in their professional activities; they are planned and applied in all phases of the activities of the enterprise to ensure protection of the drivers against the professional risk or its minimization. According the practice, the following preventive measures can be used: transport workers’ education and training system and the implementation of EuroRAP. This paper will analyze these two measures.
