Vulnerable road users in Hungary

Abstract

On European roads in every traveled kilometer a cyclist has eight times, a pedestrian has nine times higher probability to have a fatal accident. Therefore special attention must be drawn to them especially focusing on ageing Europe. This paper examines the last 6 years (2009-2014) accidents and casualties of vulnerable road users. This paper pays special attention to the vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists and on the severity of their road accidents.
