Abstract

The transport policy of the European Union and Lithuania is favorable to the development of intermodal transportation and encourages the competitiveness of the services provided. The article presents the intermodal transportation market carrying goods, tendencies of intermodal transportation between the European Union and Lithuania, touches the problem areas and possibilities to solve them, reviews the advantages, disadvantages and perspectives of development of intermodal transportation.
