The environmental aspects and energy efficiency on the Eurasian railway links are analysed in this article. The issues related to energy consumption/ energy efficiency of diesel & electrified traction systems and monitoring the greenhouse gas emission (thereafter – GHG) on international railway transport are estimated. Methodology of Company “EcoTransIT World” (ETW) is applied for comparison of ecological parameters of freight transportation by Eurasian railway different corridors. The ecological parameters under consideration are energy consumption and air pollutants. Finally, conclusions are given.
