The creation of electronic text databases in Lithuanian higher education institutions

Abstract

In the paper, the authors review the current developments in the Lithuanian higher education and research information system. In line with UNESCO's objective to enhance the production, access and archiving of scientific information by utilising new technologies. Lithuanian universities will participate in global efforts to generate theses and dissertations on information e-databases. Presently, most of these documents produced in Lithuania are not easily accessible to students or researchers.
