Urban sprawl processes of large cities are vital for small towns, located in metropolitan areas. But usually it does not guarantee a cohesive development of their inner spatial structure. It is essential to look for new qualitative ways and methods of development regulation for these small towns - starting from regional modeling of a metropolitan area to integration of town's internal spatial structure, maintaining its valuable characteristics.
