Continuation of research on magnetic field secular variation in Lithuania

Periodical measurements of magnetic field parameters at the same places are important for research of geomagnetic field secular variations. A recent stage of the magnetic surveying activities in Lithuania was started by setting up 6 secular variation stations in 1999. The research on magnetic field secular variation in Lithuania was continued periodically and recent measurements were made in 2007. It was the fourth measurement cycle used for geomagnetic field variations estimation. The measurements were performed by specialists of the Institute of Geodesy, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw in a similar manner like in 1999, 2001 and 2004. The measurements were done by antimagnetic theodolite Theo020B with D/I FLUXGATE magnetometer and proton magnetometer PMP-8. Series of 16 measurements of declination and inclination as well as approximately 200 measurements of magnetic field vector intensity were done at every of 6 stations. All measurements are reduced to annual mean values reduced to the middle of the year using data from geomagnetic observatory of Belsk. Based on the above mentioned number of measurements, geomagnetic field parameters change was determined.
