Assessment of railway vehicle technical condition change by sharpe parameters
Abstract
The author defends the statement that it is completely correct to examine technical indicators by the methods that are normally used to analyse economic indicators. The article provides examples how to apply Sharpe parameter successfully to analyse the change of technical indicators. One example shows that this method can be applied to calculate the wear intensity distribution of locomotive wheel rolling surface for different wheels. The author also raises a hypothesis that the metal fatigue of wheel rolling surface can be decided according to the values of Sharpe parameters. The other example shows that it is possible to compare the number of faults of railway vehicles using Sharpe parameters. The values of Sharpe parameters make it possible to identify hardly ridden vehicles and their problematic runs.
