Investigation of outward safety airbag of passenger rail vehicle
Abstract
The present article describes the technical safety measures used on rail vehicles. Considering the analysis of state-of-art and experience of worldwide railways, it was revealed that collisions of trains with various obstacles (people, animal and vehicles) on the track occur every day. When examining the passive safety measures, the possibilities of using outward safety airbags are distinguished: the dynamic tasks of interaction of two moving bodies are considered. The main criteria for assessing the performance of rail vehicle outward airbag are established, such as the speed, acceleration and suppression characteristics of the outward airbag. The stages of numerical simulation of collision with human on the track are presented. The dynamic process of rail vehicle airbag impact on the human is described in detail. The combinations of deformations of both physical bodies and their stiffness, the impact of acceleration and the potential of human rescue after collision are estimated. Finally, the conclusions are formulated.
