Incorporating strategy in the high-tech project valuation

Abstract

In this paper two strategic management techniques are presented to help evaluate high-tech and R&D projects: a balanced scorecard and technology roadmap. Each technique has its own strenghts and weaknesses, but they both are aligned to the company's strategy and business aims, which stimulate a strategic fit and it makes sense to use them as supporting tools.
