Abstract
The law of the load distribution in threads necessary to give the lowest maximum stress concentration in the bolt were determined for an ISO nut-bolt connection subject to axial loading. The possibility to realize the optimal law of the load distribution in threads was considered. It was obtained that in the case of the tapered nut the optimal law of the clearance between the threads produced by tapering of the thread is nonlinear. Tapering the nut thred according to the obtained law of the clearance reduce the maximum alternating elastic stresses in the stud M20×2,5 by 36 per cent.
