Abstract
Air pollution becomes very actual problem for our generotion. Transport pollution lake a big part of totai atmosphcre pollution. Today railway transport emissions estimates 3% of pollution of all kinds of transport. The main pollutants emitted from railway transport are: carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (CxHy), solid particles, sulphur oxides (SO2l nitrogen oxides (NOx) and others. Various methods are created and used in many countries to evaluate a real influence of pollutants and to accept suitable environmental protection means. The aim of this work was to compare methods of evaluation of trains emissions in the atmosphere and to find differences between methods used in European Community and in Lithuania.
