Abstract
The paper researches a problem of economic and social phenomena evaluation by selecting proper test consisting of dichotomous operators. The reference values for rows and columns inversions conditional means are being calculated knowing a priori the probability distribution of economic or social indicator hypothetical value, the number of test items, the number of objects under investigation and the characteristic functions of test items. Reference values were obtained by series of Monte Carlo experiments for uniform, Gaussian and exponential distributions of latent variable. The proposed methodology of checking dichotomous test validity is illustrated by case study of economic development levele valuation.
