Abstract

The author analyses political ideas of prominent thinkers of Antique Greece and Roman Empire, presenting the conception of the Democracy of Athens, points of view of Democritus, Plato, Aristotle and Cicero on democracy, politics, state and division of power. The article also shows the importance of politics and division of power to the life of the society as well as to the functioning of state power.
