Abstract
Present research was aiming at deriving tension-stiffening relationships based on Eurocode 2 provisions for deformation analysis of bending RC members. ...Present research was aiming at deriving tension-stiffening relationship based on Eurocode 2 provisions for deformation analysis of bending RC members. According to the algorithm proposed by the authors, tension-stiffening relationships were derived from moment-curvature diagrams of reinforced concrete beams calculated using Eurocode 2 technique. The obtained relationships were applied in the numerical study, using nonlinear finite element software ATENA and Layer section model. Theoretical results were compared with experimental data of beams reported in the literature. The analyses have shown that the deformations offlexural RC members calculated using the derived tension-stiffening relationship and the Eurocode 2 technique were in good agreement.
