Research of defects in non-uniform mechanical systems using dynamic methods
Abstract
The paper presents an initial research of defect finding in connections of mechanical systems or structural defects in nonuniform systems like ropes. Early defect founding and monitoring of rope systems is important and regulated by safety standards procedure. Many types of rope control is used in practice, but standard control procedure of such nonuniform structures as ropes with electromagnetic methods are still not set-up. Daily control of such systems raises task for researches to create a method of control and monitoring of rope systems, which can be reliable and cheap to implement. Here is presented method, how, using dynamic properties of rope as dynamic system is possible measure and decide about rope quality, find presence of broken strands and define cross section of such defects. Defining of defect presence analysis of dynamic system vibration spectrum is used, which checks for presence of some characteristic natural frequencies, representing broken strand and change of main lowest frequencies, representing rope as constraint system. There are presented main defects in ropes, method of defining, given results. Finally, conclusions on method are made.
