Abstract
The article presents the results of research of welded joints failure process in a high cyclic loading area. Compact samples were cut from the steel plates with double weld seam in order to establish conditions under which the crack could appear and spread in various places of welded seam and with different orientation crack in regard to seam. The crack front is influenced by the welded seam and transitional layer to the base metal, also by the location of the weld changes the fracture mechanism and value of stressintensity factor threshold Δ Kth. A comparison of analytical and numerical results has been performed.
