Modelling of the variable speed drive with speed observer

The motor speed measuring methods, their advantages and disadvantages are described. Computer models of observers for frequency controlled electric drives are proposed. Advantages of the scalar controlled electric drive with speed observer are analyzed. Two types of speed observers are elaborated. The simulation results and area of application of proposed observers are discussed.
