Abstract
Adequate modeling of reinforced concrete (RC) cracking and, particularly, post-cracking behavior, as one of the major sources of nonlinearity, is the most important and difficult task of serviceability analysis. Deformation behavior of cracked members is a complex process including a wide range of effects: different strength and deformation properties of steel and concrete; bond slip between re-bar and concrete, etc. Present study aims at serviceability analysis of RC beams using the discrete cracking approach. The simple numerical model based on the rigid-plastic bond-slip law was introduced. Curvatures and crack width analyses resulted in reasonable agreement with the test measurements.
