Capacity research of flows via road at international border control posts between Lithuania and Belarus
Abstract
Nowadays just several border control posts at the external borders of EU partly comply with the requirements of European Union legislation, therefore it is essential to secure effective activity of the border control posts, that is establishing relevant infrastructure. Insufficient explication of the infrastructure of border control posts damages the image of the state, decreases the attractiveness for those who cross the state border, and makes negative influence on cargo flows. In this article it is presented the capacity analysis of cargo, vehicle and person flow at the international control posts between Lithuania and Belarus - i.e. Lavoriskes, Medininkai, Raigardo and Salcininkai control posts, with the purpose to identify which of these control posts have the biggest cargo flow also to perform the forecast of the cargo flow at the most loaded post, were will be necessary to develop the infrastructure. The article presents cargo, vehicle and person flow capacity forecast in most heavily laden the Republic of Belarus and Lithuania Medininkai international control post using the linear regression model.
