Reduction of pollution caused by UAB "Vilniaus autobusai"

In the paper, fuel consumption by Vilnius City public transport and the exhaust emission caused by it as well as the related problems and the ways of their settlement are discussed upon. In the research part, fuel consumption by an urban bus is analyzed, the possible minimum and maximum values of it. are measured. The data on exploitation of a bus with the standard complete set and a bus equipped with fuel consumption meter "AIC Veritas 908" upon the same driving conditions were compared. Computing the emission of pollutants was carried out on the base of "The Methodology for Assessment of Emission of Pollutants by Vehicles with Internal-Combustion Engine to the Atmosphere" approved by the Ministry of Environment of Republic of Lithuania on 13 July 1998. On the base of the results obtained, the conclusions are provided.
