Abstract
This paper presents research of car with anti-lock brake system (ABS) braking characteristics. There were carried out braking experiments with cars (initial speed, deceleration of cars were measured by the XL METER Pro Beta decelerometer). The experimentally obtained characteristics were analyzed by use of mathematical statistics. After the experiment there was found that for all of the cars steady deceleration was much higher than under EU Directive 71/320, the UN ECE Regulation 13th. The mean values were ranging from 7.73 m/s2 to 9.90 m/s2, regardless of the initial braking speed.
