Abstract
Geometrical modelling of 3D fittings was performed in an engineering system of a pipe network. This work considers 3D representation of a pipe network of a district heating system, which enables application of detailed numerical models (i.e., two-equation turbulent models). For this, the strategy for geometrical modelling was developed that included the subdivision of 3D fitting elements in logical and structural elements, so that numerical mesh could distinctly be applied. Such geometry decomposition embles effective numerical investigations with repetitive number of test runs that includes meshing (i.e., applying grid points) the same geometry numerous numbers of times.
