Creation of an urban spatial model using laser-scanning
Abstract
The investigations of real accuracy and application possibilities of LIDAR images taken over Lithuania cities are investigated. The progressive aerial laser scanning method with integration of digital photogrammetry technology, a GPS-IMU system and a digital aerial photography have been used for the creation the urban spatial model. The application feasibility is investigated. A description of equipment, technological features is presented. The cities areas are scanned using scanner Optech ALTM 3100, flying height – 800 m. The laser pulse point’s heights standard deviations from geodetic values are up to 0.05–0.11 m. The maximum absolute planimetric displacement is 0.25 m. Laser scanning data fulfils the accuracy requirements for large-scale urban surface mapping.
