Unprecedented and large-scale transformations of social, economic, legal, political and other spheres are occurring in Lithuania. Lithuania is seeking a rapid integration and harmonisation with various structures of the EU. At the same time, one of the most intensively developing sectors of Lithuania economy is the real estate market. The property and construction industry, under the effect of these changes, has a particular need for property management (PM) specialists; these specialists in the new field have to be trained in accordance with the highest standards. Last year, a distance-learning programme via the Internet of Property Management leading to a Masters degree was introduced at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Vilnius, Lithuamia. The present programme of distance (Internet) studies has been the first of its kind in Lithuania. The paper includes a description of those studies.
