Analysis and comparison of geotechnical design according to SNiP and Eurocode

Abstract

Limit state methods are used for the design of foundations in Lithuania. The different limit states for determination of spread foundation dimensions are used in different normative documents. It was chosen dimensions of spread foundation according to the currently used standard SNIP 2.02.01-83, where serviceability limit state is the main criteria and EN 1997, where the ultimate limit state is main requirement.
