Abstract
The main drive of the multi-sectional web offset press, consisting of autonomous drives of sections with controlled electric engines, was investigated using the method of computer-aided simulation. The operation of the sections is synchronized and controlled applying the principle of electronic shaft. The signals for control is obtained from photo-pulse sensors of the sections and following positions of special marks on the paper tape. The drive is examined as a complex electromechanical system. The principal regularities of its operations as well as its reactions to various mechanical and electrical disturbances have been identified. A rational construction of the drive has been proposed.
