Abstract
This paper addresses the task of design of vulnerable property located in the vicinity of roads and railways used to transport flammable and explosive materials. A procedure is suggested for estimating the potential damage due to explosions on road and rail to individual objects of roadside property. The damage is considered to mean structural failures of these objects. This damage is measured in terms of probabilities of potential failures. The estimation of the damage probabilities is based on a stochastic simulation of accident on road or rail involving an explosion. The suggested procedure can be applied to planning the land along roads and railways which are used to the transportation explosive materials and goods.
