Abstract
The research of dynamic and ecological parameters was carried out by natural tests and numerical simulation of city bus VOLVO 815 B10 BLE which is using compressed natural gas (CNG). The numerical simulation software “Diesel-RK” was used in this study which allowed analysing characteristics of combustion process, engine effective parameters and possible composition of exhaust gas. During numerical simulation with different natural gas and hydrogen (H2) blends it was noticed that magnification of hydrogen part in blend increase engine indicated pressure and NOx amount in exhaust gas. In numerical simulation using 80% CNG and 20% H2 gas blend and changing exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) intensity there was established lower NOx emissions than using 100% CNG. It is determined that H2 gas addition reduces comparative fuel consumption.
