The aim of presented work is to study acoustical comfort in student dormitories, to evaluate whether there is a guarantee of good living, resting and sleeping conditions. Acoustical comfort issue in Vilnius Gediminas technical university dormitories after full, partial renovation or without renovation is studied. Data was collected in the student survey. The survey results show that the acoustical comfort of these dormitories is evaluated average 4.98 points out often. Renovation often reduces external noise, but generally renovation is concentrated on the external parts of the building and doesn't improve internal acoustical features. It is important to consider acoustical comfort and make appropriate decisions to improve both internal and external noise suppression during renovation.
