The first railway line in Lithuania was constructed in 1862 by Stanislav Kerbedz who was born in Lithuania but for most time of his life he lived in Russia and Poland. The Lithuanian railway network in most cases was constructed with the aim of satisfying the needs of specific foreign countries (Russia, Germany and Poland). Only one line from Kazlu Ruda to Mockava was built with the interior interest of Lithuania [...].
