Modeling of doses indoors due to construction materials
Abstract
Effective doses received by people indoors are rather high in comparison with the ones from other sources, both natural and artificial. The main sources of exposure indoors are indoor radon, construction materials and radiation from outdoors. Many problems arise when it is necessary to assess doses of external exposure due to construction materials. The task of such evaluation is connected with the fact that in some cases decision on suitability of use of construction materials from the point of view of radiation protection might be made only having assessed these doses.
