Investigation of transport noise near Lithuanian highways during the periods of winter and summer

Abstract

Transport, as a dynamic noise source, has a particularly huge negative impact on the environment. Motor transport is the main source of noise. The maximum noise levels from transport varied from 70 dB(A) to 86 dB(A) at the A6 highway and from 68 dB(A) to 84 dB(A) at the A11 highway during the summer at a distance of 7.5 m from the road. Furthermore, the noise level from transport at the highway A6 and the highway A11 during the summer was higher than in winter.
