The sound emitted by means of transport is a fundamental part of environmental noise. The rating levels may be used to describe sound emission from the one sound source as well combined sources. A composite whole day annual rating levels are used for LDEN environmental noise indicator, which become mandatory metric by Environmental noise management directive. For development measuring procedures in order obtain a full information about noise level indicators during 24 h, the appropriate permanently noise monitoring system was created. The data acquired with such system contain a lot useful information about noise impacts on the environment during selected reference time. Advantages of long time recording of short time sound estimation and following post processing of these data technique was applied as instrumentation for research. Developed computer based monitoring system allow obtain the short time sound pressure descriptors of noise event and additionally consider a statistically distribution in long time investigations. From these data was determinate the distribution density of noise events. Such system gives tools to assess environmental noise and give guidance on prediction long term exposure from various types of environmental noises.
