Abstract
Public transport vehicles provide services in major and minor built-up areas, cities; therefore, people’s work and rest depend on the quality of public transport operation. Since pavement structures of public transport (bus and trolleybus) stops are influenced by special loads, their design and construction shall comply with certain requirements and instructions. The wheels of public transport vehicles place static or dynamic load on pavement of public transport stops, causing plastic deformations (ruts and corrugations) and the risk for pavement deterioration. This article presents the analysis of the influence of geometrical parameters of public transport stops on the stability of structures as well as the research findings of pavement structures on the streets of Vilnius. Concrete pavement structures of asphalt are recommended to be constructed on public transport stops.
