Analysis of actions towards intermodal services implementation in Lithuania

Abstract
After recovering its independence in 1990, Lithuanis is indenting to develop and reform its transport sector considering its national needs, as well as taking into account the main trends of the European Union transport policy. The basic objective for Lithuanian transport system is to become a part of a an integrated EU transport system. For this reason its transport system has to be based on the concept of intermodality, i. e. the conditions should be made to assure interoperability between all the transport modes. This article presents an analysis of the main measures that are (or should be) taken in Lithuania to reach the desirable results.
