The passenger traction rolling-stocks of Lithuania and neighbours countries are describes in this article. The main technical data of rolling-stock are analysed and compared. The algorithm of selection of the most rational traction rolling-stock for passenger transportation by new building railway line "Rail Baltica" is presented taking into acount the prediction of international passenger flows in this line. The rolling-stock operation efficiency is determined by three multicriteria methods: the sum of ratings, simple additive weighting, and the geometric mean method. Rolling-stocks are valued in accordance with technical, economic and ecological parameters. Finally, the main conclusions are given.
