Abstract
A numerical procedure has been proposed for investigation of tension stiffening in tensile and flexural reinforced concrete members subjected to shrinkage. Based on earlier proposed method, tension stiffening relationships were derived from moment-curvature diagrams obtained from numerical experiment. It has been shown that shrinkage has significantly reduced the cracking resistance and the tension stiffening in the members with higher reinforcement ratios. A transformation formula has been proposed for deriving the tension stiffening relationship free of shrinkage. The investigation results well agree with the previous partial findings of empirical nature of the research group.
