Optimal design for cyclic loading
Abstract
Analysis of the response of elastoplastic structures to a cyclic loading is of a considerable practical importance because the most of real loads are cyclic. Recently the branch of mechanics related to this field and commonly known as a shakedown theory has achieved a significant progress [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. However, the main attention was given as yet to the calculation of admissible load variation interval for a given structure. On the other hand, an optimal design of a structure to carry a given cyclic load is of more technological interest.
