Simulation of overvoltages in the subnanosecond information converter signal circuits

Abstract
The system frequency converter - AC induction motor is analyzed. The reasons to appear overvoltages in variable speed drives (VSD) based on AC motors with the frequency converters are discussed. The results of modeling of induction motor controlled by the frequency converter are presented. The appearing overvoltages across the DC filter capacitors also are considered. The results are obtained using developed new model of motor supplied by the frequency converter, which is supplemented by the equations, modeling the direct current circuit of the converter. The developed model gives possibility to simulate the overvoltages across the DC filter capacitors.
