The paper presents the investigation of section properties of fracture of CT specimens with defects. Fractures of specimens are scanned. Section properties of scanned fracture view are calculated by computer code with assessmer defects and crack length. Section area, moment of inertia and section modulus are used for stress intensity fa' threshold calculation of high-strength cast iron.
