Abstract
BIAcore^ is an innovative technology developed by Swedish company Biacore AB and is designed for monitoring biospecific interactions in real time, using a non-invasive optical detection principle based on surface plasmon resonance. It is a unique technology for generating high quality, information-rich data on molecular binding events. This article describes the basic principles of BIAcore® operation, application fields and advantages. Coagulation factor VII is a plasma glicoprotein, which initiates blood coagulation cascade by binding to its essential cofactor - tissue factor. BIAcore"' was applied for investigation of interaction between blood coagulation factor VII and tissue factor. The rate constants were determined by fitting kinetic data to different interaction models.
