Development of the 3D finite element model for the dynamic analysis of the Ignalina NPP unit 2 reactor building is considered. The model comprises description of the monolithic structures, while prefabricated frame structures are removed and replaced by additional stiffness and masses. Discretisation of equipment in a form of applied masses is discussed in details. The 3D model has been used for global dynamic analysis, where evaluation of frequencies and in-structure response spectra is considered in details. Sensitivity study with respect of increased and reduced by 20% masses of removed structures, is also presented.
