Abstract
Results of tribological research of mineral motor and mineral industrial oils with and without twisted nematic liquid crystals additives are presented in the paper. Tribological efficiency of twisted nematic liquid crystals as additives of lubricants was established for steel friction pair “rotating roller – fixed segment”. The results of experiments were compared and influence of surface-active substances on efficiency of liquid crystals additives was established. Additionally, poor dissolubility of the liquid crystals with the biggest molecular mass in industrial oil was observed, further tests were performed and optimal concentration of those liquid crystals in industrial oil was obtained.
