Architektūros konkursų ir valstybės architektūros politikos sąveika
Santrauka
About one fifth of the national product is generated by the construction sector. Hence, architecture determines indirectly how rationally one fifth of the state property will be used. Qualitative architecture represents a state, forms environment and a man [3]. However, does the state pay sufficient attention to architecture quality in today's Lithuania? The best way to strive for this quality under the conditions of a democratic society is to arrange architectural competitions. Subject of architectural competitions is important both from an economical attitude and professional-architectural point of view. Besides, it contains an unquestionable public meaning. Should the competition takes place soundly, it becomes kind of a public concord agreement: it is known what is being constructed; attitudes of every description are introduced; a consolidated and often compromise opinion of professionals, society representatives and persons making decisions is generated. An architectural competition is an environment where modern architectural stars are born [1]. In this sense, there is still nothing better than a competition. Looking through the prism of architectural competitions certain conclusions on the state policy in this field, on the general situation of architecture in the country may be drawn.
