On the equivalence of compressive concrete diagrams in analysis of flexural reinforced concrete elements

Abstract

In the paper, an approach for equivalent substitution of the rectangular stress-strain diagram for the nonlinear diagram taken into consideration the descending strain branches were proposed. The results obtained were examined via the regulations of code STR, EC-2, SNiP and used for the sake of comparison as well as exploring the present inadequacies. The correction factors for equivalent substitution of rectangular and nonlinear stress-strain diagrams with respect to the descending branch were also proposed.
