Abstract
Three dangerous sections have to be considered when calculating the carrying capacity of layered flexural reinforced concrete members: normal section subjected to bending moment, transverse section subjected to shear stress and the longitudinal section subjected to shear stress. The latter section usually determines the carrying capacity of a flexural layered member if internal layer is made of the lightweight concrete. Different concrete shrinkage deformations also have influence to the state of stress and strain within the layered cross-section and are able to determine cracks in the internal layer. The influence of the state of stress and strain in the internal layer on the carrying capacity of the flexural three-layer members is analyzed in this paper.
